Who we are
The KAN Collective is the publishing imprint of KAN Associates. For any privacy request, write to [email protected].
What we collect and why
- Release lists. Your email address and the title you asked about, the date, and the network address you signed up from (to stop abuse). We use them only to email you once when that title is released.
- Admin sign-in. The email address of KAN Collective staff who manage the site.
We do not sell or share your details with anyone for their own marketing.
Orders
When you buy a book we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered. We use them to deliver your order, to send your confirmation, invoice and tracking, and to keep the accounting records the law requires.
Payments are handled by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay, never to us. We receive a payment reference and the payment’s status and amount, never your card, UPI or bank details.
Stored on your device, not with us
Your bag (the titles and quantities you add) and your region choice are kept in your browser’s storage and in a kan-region cookie. We receive your bag only when you check out.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and books readers look at, which books are added to bags and bought, and which sites and campaigns bring readers here. It sets cookies whose names start with _ga to recognise a returning browser, and Google receives your browser’s network address, type and approximate location. We do not use it for advertising: advertising features and Google signals are off. Order addresses are stripped of their private reference before anything is sent, and we never send your name, email, phone or delivery address.
In the European Union, the wider European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Analytics runs only if you accept it in the banner, and you can change your answer with Cookie choices at the foot of every page. Elsewhere it runs when you visit; you can block it with your browser’s cookie settings or Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Google keeps this data for 14 months and processes it in the United States.
Who processes it
Razorpay processes payments. Resend sends our emails. Google provides our website analytics. Our website and database are hosted by Railway in Singapore, and our files (book covers and invoices) are stored by Cloudflare. Your details are therefore stored outside India.
How long we keep it
- Release-list emails are deleted 30 days after the release email is sent, or 30 days after you unsubscribe. Until a title is released, we keep your address on its list unless you unsubscribe.
- Orders and invoices: eight years from the end of the financial year, as Indian accounting law requires (to be confirmed by our accountant).
- Checkouts that were never paid: deleted after 30 days. The internet address used to place an order is deleted after 30 days.

Every release email has a link to stop emails about that title. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, write to [email protected].
